Closing our Fall 2014 season

We've completed our Fall 2014 season! JUMP! dancers are learning, exploring new movement, and busy practicing in rehearsals. Our hard-working students have had many great opportunities to perform in inspiring and extraordinary performances this season!

We danced downtown as part of First Works Fall season!  Amazing site specific work around the beloved downtown fountain

We danced for Hillary Clinton and we taught some Ballet fundamentals to our new governor: Gina Raimondo!

We performed in our fearless leader: Mary Paula Hunter's FRAG-MENTd. An experimental work that tested our abilities to dance, sing, and act!

Turning over to the winter season, JUMP! dancers are beginning to rehearse for JUMP!'s original holiday classic: Scenes From The Polar Express!

Jump! performs for Hillary Clinton's campaign rally

JUMP! had the opportunity to perform for Hillary Clinton's campaign rally for Gina Raimondo. Held at Rhode Island College, the Former Secretary and First Lady came to rally several hundred Gina Raimondo supporters in her campaign for governor.

The Raimondo campaign estimated more than 1,100 people attended the rally!

JUMP! DANCE CAMPS

The weeks of: June 23-27,  July 7-July 11, July 21-25, August 11-15

For children ages 3-13

FULL DAY OPTION-- 8 am to 3:00 pm
             $300 per week; $250 per week with multi-week enrollment

 HALF DAY OPTION-- 8:00 am to Noon
             $175  per week

JUMP! Camp is a unique summer experience!  Taught by the highly trained JUMP! dancers and Artistic Director Mary Paula Hunter, JUMP! offers young campers a variety of performing arts opportunities.

Campers will learn a variety of dance styles, including African, modern, ballet, tap, and choreography. The curriculum will include musical theater, theater games and voice and theatre techniques. Participants will learn the magic of stage production, including creating visual designs for sets and costumes.

Taught at the convenient JUMP! home base location-- Church of the Redeemer on Providence’s East Side, 655 Hope Street-- JUMP! camps are easy to get to. The location offers many fun opportunities for site specific performances, outdoor art making, and a ballet studio for all kinds of classes in  dance and theatre.

Field trips are an important part of JUMP! Camp.  JUMP! is famous for making dances all over our fair city.  We will travel to close-by locations for fun dance making and exploration of art in the city.

SCENES FROM THE POLAR EXPRESS 2012

We are thrilled to once again be presenting our annual dance drama, SCENES FROM THE POLAR EXPRESS, December 22 and 23 at the Wheeler School in Providence.

POLAR, based on the children's book by local author Chris van Allsburg, has become a holiday classic with Rhode Island-area families-- with original dance, an eclectic soundtrack and wonderful performances by our young company members.

 Don't miss us this year-- the weekend before Christmas, or almost literally, "night before a holiday."

JUMP! has been "Dancing in the Streets" since our inception over 10 years ago and you can continue to find us throughout the region, whether it be at Kennedy Plaza, a drained swimming pool, the RISD museum or across Hope Street. JUMP! dancers are back in Rhode Island after their exciting premiere at Dance Place in Washington, DC on March 17 & 18. JUMP! was the first touring company to participate in Dance Place's annual Youth Festival, performing three pieces and sharing the stage with young African, Hip Hop, Modern and Step dancers.

On Sunday, dancers danced with the Cherry Blossoms. This is just the beginning of our spring site-specific season!
